Ultimately, running quickens our sense of wonder. The true blessing of running is not that it provides a challenge or contest to be overcome and dominated, rather it offers something gentler and infinitely more powerful. Running reignites our sense of astonishment at the physical world and our place within it.
We are Good People Run. A collective focused on the art of running, the culture that surrounds it, engagement with the wider community, and giving back. Our passion is for the creativity and forward thinking that many people in our culture possess. Our collective is made up of many different individuals, all with different narratives with a singular thread that ties Good People Run together. We are based in New Zealand; however encompass creative people from around the world.
GPR are storytellers, and do so through the medium of written word, fine art, photography, design, and apparel and aim to support grass roots running events and people both in New Zealand and offshore. Our personal goal is to highlight those of us who through running find a way to give back to their communities or charities, either through fundraising, their time, or advocacy. We have partnered with the Kiwi charity KidsCan and are thrilled to announce we are having our first exhibition at lululemon Athletica Britomart on Saturday November 7th 2015 from 6pm to 10pm.
We will be showing works from featured Good People Run artists (Sonny Ross, Kate Hursthouse, Paul Petch, Jude Ilagan, Mark Frudd, Jade Ormsby, and Kyra Clarke. ) with all profits (and donations) from the sale of artwork going to KidsCan. We would love to see you there to introduce our collective – and share the good aspects of our running culture through art and creativity.
We invite you to share our project too throughout your social media networks too. You can find out more by calling me direct on +64 210 336 047
