On the 2nd of January, I’ll start from Wellington to run up the entire west coast to Cape Reinga 1100km, over a marathon a day. It’ll be an incredible adventure, running the coastline and even swimming our largest hat ours like the Manukau and Kaipara.
For Lydia O’Donnell, “the world would be a nicer place, if everyone ran” and it easy to see why she holds such a positive attitude towards a sport that has given her so much. Having met Lydia a handful of times, the words talented, passionate, genuine, caring, focussed and inspiring come to mind.
I see Richie Hardcore as a fighter, an advocator of drug free life, a slave to the physical, a genuine bloke with a big heart. He’s also a runner. So let’s chat with Richie to find out what he does and how running is part of that.
I was lucky enough to host Barrett and a group of others on a spicy trail run around Riverhead Forest. He had to catch a flight basically right after we ran, so our time together was limited. In lieu of a recorded conversation, Barrett generously agreed to my request for an email interview. Enjoy.
Grant was generous enough to speak with me via a number of emails and answer my questions. I’ve had so much fun putting this one together, compelled as I am to re-visit most of the albums that Grant listed whilst typing. Anyway, Sit back, relax and enjoy!
