Images we captured are available for the OMGTech charity to use across all marketing and media to share their amazing cause.

We headed to Tamaki Primary School on the weekend to offer our photography skills to the OMGTech charity, and in particular the amazing Good People Run ambassador Nanogirl at work.

“OMGTech understand that kids get technology. Kids love to explore and play and invent and innovate. It is just part of being a kid, being curious and not knowing any boundaries to imagination. They know we live in a world now where technology is everywhere, and it is poised to enable us to make all those crazy dreams of hover boards, spray on shoes, robots and wearable technology all come true, finally!

However, the really really big ideas that will shape the future are in the heads of our kids and the technology that will enable them to make these dreams reality is still inaccessible to most. We at OMG Tech! are all about enabling all kids to get access to that future technology today.  It is vitally important that there are no barriers for any kid in accessing any future technology.” – OMGTech.

As part of a full day of activities Michelle was sharing her love for science and running with students to promote being active, managing frustrations through movement and also relaxing.

The students talked about heart rate and supplying blood to the muscles and after taking a relaxed (resting) heart rate, everyone had a good sprint around the school yard! Back in the class room everyone discussed the new faster heart rate and what effect it had on the body. With some calm breathing everyone slowed the rate down.

Did we learn something too? Yeah maybe :) Nanogirl in action is something to experience as complex processes are communicated in a really easy way to young people. This is what Michelle is all about- communicating and inspiring young people to enjoy everyday science.  There is a genuine joy in everything she does with young people too, and you can’t help but smile as the wonder of science becomes contagious!

Being 100% present. Listening. Inspiring. Being genuine. Caring. Giving. Are all words that come to mind watching Michelle in action. Good People Run are very proud to have Michelle as an ambassador, and it goes without saying we adore supporting her to give back though running and science.
