Coffee and Kind (the social enterprise by Carolyn Arthur) held its first event today! In collaboration with Good People Run, Triathlete’s Corner and Smith Coffee we are stoked to see so many people attend and shoes dropped off for Shoes for Planet Earth !

Here’s the deal… we all have old sports shoes lying around the place that we haven’t got around to throwing out or donating yet, or just aren’t quite sure what to do with. Well today people came along and dropped these old shoes off in exchange for a delicious Smith Coffee or a hot chocolate! Simple!

The 92! pairs of shoes will be donated to the very worthy organisation Shoes for Planet Earth who distribute shoes to those who need them worldwide. The shoes that were collected today will stay in Auckland where there is a great need for second hand shoes. In a business driven society that’s for maximum profit over community – these events really matter! We are very proud to support Coffee & Kind and wish Carolyn all the best for this community driven project.

Please check out the Shoes for Planet Earth website for more information on this wonderful organisation and also our friend over at Coffee & Kind.
